Week 8: Do Dogs Go to Heaven? – Mortality, Grief and Eternal Life

This final week of the course addresses the Christian attitude towards aging, death, grief and eternal life. It speaks of the latter as a consequence of salvation wherein people are invited to have an eternal perspective and begin to live Heaven now through their relationship with Christ. Through Jesus’ overcoming of sin and death, humanity – through binding itself to Him – may participate in this victory, a consequence of which is eternal life.

Feedback on Talk

“It increased my hopes that death is just the beginning of things.”

“The nature of the topic is more solemn and serious, but at the same time the quality, impact and comprehensiveness was excellent. A difficult topic to present, but it was done with gentleness and sensitivity without compromising the material [it] needed to convey.”

“It provided interesting perspective on life.”

“Three phrases struck me: die in relationship and friendship with God, keep our eyes on Him and see Him as the hope of glory, we begin to live eternity now.”
