Week 7: It’s a Dog’s Life – The Problem of Suffering

Humanity continues to grapple with the experience of suffering. In doing so some have concluded that there cannot be a God. They assert that God cannot be both all-powerful and all-loving because, if He were, He would prevent or end suffering. This premise leads to a discussion of God’s “active” and “passive” wills. The course looks to the various sources of suffering, the gift of free will and the place of miracles.
