Small Groups

It is recommended that small groups consist of eight to 10 guests and at least one leader as well as one team helper (two of each is ideal). The small group leaders should open and close each session with a brief prayer. Please remember that the small groups are not meant for teaching but for sharing and building trust.

Accordingly the small group discussions should be run on a “host-guest model” versus a “teacher-student model;” this is crucial if Dogmatic Theology is to yield your parish or church group the best possible results. The small group discussion questions are accessible on the Dogmatic Theology website or when using Disc 4 as a data disc. As well the questions are listed at the conclusion of the respective weeks within the Dogmatic Theology Manual.

On a final note, it is strongly encouraged that there be prayerful discernment in selecting small group leaders. Because Dogmatic Theology has the potential to attract people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including those who may not be active in the Church, leadership positions should be assigned with that in mind.

Lord Jesus, through you all things have come to be. Thank you for inspiring the creation of Dogmatic Theology and making its production possible. May it give you glory and be a blessing to all who view it. Protect all future participants and leaders of the course that they may encounter you anew through it and find within it a spiritual wellspring. Amen.
